November Bootcamp for New Players

Looking to join roller derby? Obviously you should play with us! Our bootcamp registration is now open! Click here to see our Facebook event page. Make you you fill out the skater information and release form here before showing up to our MANDATORY first informational meeting on November 6th. Bootcamp will meet twice a week, Sundays and Wednesdays 6-8pm from Nov 6th to Dec 4th. Have scheduling conflicts? Message us to see if we can work it out!

Skaters of all skill levels are invited to join! For the MANDATORY November 6th meeting, please bring your photo id and health insurance card, plus your one time payment of $35 to the Iowa National Guard Recruiting Center in Iowa City.

Old Capitol Roller Derby does not differentiate between skater members who identify as female and those who identify as a non-binary gender. This inculdes but is not limited to genderqueer, transmasc, transfem, and agender.

Monster's Brawl - Day vs Night

The forces of light battle the forces of darkness at this year’s annual Monster’s Brawl! This is a costumed roller derby bout where we will be debuting last year’s bootcamp graduates! Check out the Facebook event page here .

Doors open at 4:45, first whistle at 5.

Tickets are $10 at the door, kids 10 and under get in free!

Concessions, merch, and coloring will be available in the lobby.

Roller Derby 101 Bootcamp

Interested in trying out roller derby?! Sign up for our November 2023 bootcamp. All experience levels welcome!

When: Wednesdays and Sundays in November (6-8pm)

What to bring:
-Photo ID
-Insurance Card (You must have personal insurance to skate and in January you will be required to purchase WFTDA insurance ~$70 for the year)
-Waterbottle
-Mouthguard

We will do our best to find loaner skates that fit your shoe size. We will also have loaner protective gear available. (If you are looking to purchase your own gear ahead of time, send us a message for helpful recommendations.)

OCCRD's Annual Monster's Brawl

It's that time of year again! Join us in an epic battle as team Fire skates against team Ice to see which element is truly the greatest of them all!

Feel like joining the fun? Cheer on your favorite team by wearing either blue for Ice or red for Fire.

Tickets are $7 and children under 10 are free. Save some time at the door by pre-buying on our venmo @occrd. In the subject put "Monster's Brawl" and how many people it's for.

Monster's Brawl: OCCRD v. Unholy Rollers

Old Capitol City’s annual Monster’s Brawl will be against Madison’s Unholy Rollers. The theme for the bout is Cats v. Dogs (OCC and Unholy Rollers, respectively.)

Doors open at 5pm. Game play begins at 6pm.

Oh Hot Dame! The DuPage Derby Dames will be hitting the track on Saturday, April 14th! Don’t miss out on an action-packed night of roller derby as the Dames go up against Old Capitol City Roller Derby (Iowa City, IA). First up is the Dames Onslaught versus the Ped Maulers. Stay to catch Uproar go skate-to-skate against Old Capitol City All-Stars!
